About Us

Women Empowering Women was birthed in 2010 as a Ministry to assist women living and overcoming domestic violence. The Ministry grew into an organization as  many of the women we encountered were in need of tools for empowerment, financial resources and guidance through critical life skills as they achieve sustainable recovery and personal growth.

The mission of Women Empowering Women is to support, advocate and service women - many of whom are marginalized. Our goal is to assist and work with women directly and in-directly. We partner with other groups, churches, organizations and governmental agencies to introduce tools and/or resources to assist women in achieving a quality of life - for herself and her family. 

Women Empowering Women have two major components to promote education.

1. Edification: 

a. She is Leadership Academy 

b. Iris Institute of Professional Development 

2. Scholarships:

  a. Edna Faye Gray Scholarship

  b. King, Strong, Wilson Academic Scholarship 

We work with a number of organizations (private/public) and businesses within the DMV area who support our efforts/events
